Wrestlers Protest News Live: Wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshee Malikkh, Bajrang Punia, and other wrestlers were seen sitting on a silent protest at Jantar Mantar for the second day against the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) and its chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh against whom sexual harassment allegations were made. Earlier, the Sports Ministry on Wednesday sought an explanation from the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) “within the next 72 hours”, after Vinesh Phogat leveled serious allegations of sexual harassment of female wrestlers against the sports body’s coaches and president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Vinesh said she was subjected to mental harassment by Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, adding that she had even contemplated suicide. The allegations come months after the coach of the country’s national cycling team was sacked following sexual harassment charges.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Karnataka on Thursday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth Rs 10,800 crore in Yadgir and Kalaburagi districts of the state. Shifting to old pension scheme may lead to liability add-up in future: Raghuram Rajan

As several state governments have shown their intent of shifting to the old pension scheme, former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan said that states doing so, would end up curbing current expenditure but may build liabilities for the future. He also cautioned banks on tilting too much towards retail lending. In an interview to an online portal on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) at Davos, Rajan said that the reason why the new pension scheme was adopted because in the old scheme, huge liabilities had built up.
